Inspiration is a Contact Sport
Thoughts on Leadership and Coaching.
Welcome! (CoPilot made the image - it’s bobbins, but I CBA to sort it now so will fix it later!)
This publication is rooted in my 25+ years experience of squiggly-careered corporate leadership. My aim is to inspire you with ideas you can try out yourself, and with connections into various tools, resources and other fabulous people. 🙌
Each week I will share a pondering, lesson or interesting idea, anchored mostly into people and culture, change, and strategy. But not the bullsh*t sixty shiny slides of strategy kind. Instead the one where you step back, think for a bit, write a one pager and then actually get on and do something. And fast.
All content comes from my real-life experience of getting it right and very wrong, in hefty roles with the weight of commercial delivery, big teams of people, demanding customers and all the stresses those thing bring. This is tried and tested stuff from the front line, not some academic nonsense from someone who pronounces their scholarly wisdom and then runs away to their holiday home in the Bahamas, while you cry in the toilets trying to bring their theory to life.
Together we’ll effortlessly pivot between the deep and meaningful and the light-hearted. I will occasionally take the p*ss out of the absolute nonsense that we sometimes all encounter in the corporate capitalist paradigm. And things will be slightly sweary.
So if all of this sounds like your kinda thing, sign up and enjoy the ride! You can leave any time if it gets too bumpy…
The name for my blog is a phrase that the absolutely brilliant Marcus Child used once when we were chatting. Must be fifteen or more years ago. But it has stuck with me ever since, and has become a bit of a mantra for me. Marcus is a fabulous coach and public speaker - click here to read more Marcus Child | Positive Reframe
